“Anisha” in Sanskrit means an eternal presence of light. “A” meaning “Not” and “Nisha” meaning “Darkness”. I was fated to work with light. A lot of my photography has been to explore the Female Gaze and I take inspiration from a lot of my personal life and experiences.
One of the main themes I work with is Charnel. A little gritty, a little messy, a little human. I like working with polarity and I like to toy with the extremes of Masculinity and Femininity. The dance of Revealing and Concealing, of withholding and unveiling. I think Photography is interactive.
An undercurrent in my work and life is my Sanskrit roots and a term that comes up in a lot of mantras- deha-dehi. Meaning Mind-Body. It combines the Being and Believing.

I like working in duality.
